If it was my document I would think about making image files of each page,
saving them in Adobe Acrobat so they can be posted on the website and then
people can print off copies when they want to. The handling of the document
will take the same amount of time and will have the same impact on the
document itself, handling-wise. Perhaps others have similar experience with

Subject: 1811 School Record Book
Hi All:
With recent school renovations, the original Town School Record book has
been located for our town. This is especially exciting as all town records
prior to 1850 have been burned. This book is very fragile and I need some
recommendations on proper handling inlieu of just laying it on the Xerox
machine and making a copy for circulation to interested town members.
